Happy 2025! I seriously cannot believe it’s 2025, can you? So, what are you looking forward to this year? Anything you’re dreading or not really looking forward to? I always love the reset the new year tends to bring. I like to reflect on the past year, to figure out what I want to continue in my life, and what I’d like to phase out in the coming year. How about you?
Here’s what I’ll be covering in this blog: New Year self-care ideas for 2025, common stressors for moms around the new year, and things to add more if in 2025. Read on to hear these short, quick tips!
New Year self-care ideas for 2025:
- Start therapy- it’s one of the most common times of the year for people to start therapy
- Come up with a word of the year- mine’s stability- what’s yous?
- Move your body- yoga, gentle stretching, going for a walk, weight training, high impact workout classes- you decide!
- Create a vision board- one of my favorite ways to meet personal and professional goals because they are visual and top of mind (as long as you keep it some place where you can see it every day)
- Focus on mindfulness and your five senses to stay present, centered and grounded
- Start a daily meditation practice- quiet or guided- which ever one works best for you
What else would you add to this list?
Common stressors for moms around the new year:
- Work stress- inside and outside of the home
- Unsure how to start making changes- where do I go from here?
- Struggles with a mental health issue like depression or anxiety
- Not having a supportive partner- do you have other people in your life who are supportive?
- Finding time to focus on you- self-care, anyone?
- Feeling like your kids’ needs should come before your own- you matter too!
What else would you add here?
Things to add more of in 2025:
- Whole foods- what foods are best for your body?
- Self-care- what’s your favorite type of self-care?
- Compassion- including self-compassion, not just compassion we send to others
- Quality time- alone and with loved ones
- Emotional connection- especially in your closest relationships
- Exercise- what are your favorite ways to move your body?
- Love- inward and outward!
What other things do you want to add more of to your life in 2025?
If you’re not looking forward to another new year, know that you’re not alone. Many people struggle with time moving forward and all the things we’re supposed to do this time of year according to society (New Year’s resolutions, anyone?). Try to quiet down external expectations, so you can tune into your internal wants and needs. This should help take better care of you this time of year.
