Animals are one of the most beautiful gifts we have.

Our family adopted a cat named Sylvester when we were living overseas in Santiago, Chile (getting him back stateside was lots of fun… I mean stress!). It’s been so fulfilling having a cat in our home, as we’ve never had one before. But, when we moved back to Flower Mound, Texas, we all had a yearning for a dog too. We adopted Lily from the Humane Society as few months ago, and she’s brought so much joy into our lives. I personally love having dog and cat energy in the house. Plus, they generally get along, which has been great.
Are you a pet person? If so, how has having pets in your home enhanced your own life? What are the drawbacks of having a pet for you? Having two pets can also be a lot of work when it comes to giving them both enough attention throughout the day, the cost of food and toys in this day and age, picking up after them, etc.
Losing a pet can be one of the hardest things we go through in life. We’ve lost three dogs over the years, and it’s so painful each and every time. And, it’s a grief that may linger on and on, often longer than expected for many of us.
